On Sunday, the 15th of June, historical and high-prestige racing cars will come back in the «Medieval Circuit» for competing in the ninth edition of the Cup City of Bergamo, a historical reawakening of the Grand Prix of Bergamo in result of which Tazio Nuvolari exulted over Alfa Romeo P3 in 1935. It’s the formula of the Historic Grand Prix of Bergamo, appreciated successfully by the public: more than 40.000 spectators were present in 2013.
The Wall Circuit will be tracked this year as well in a clockwise sense, as in 1935, departing from the square Cittadella, through the gate del Pantano, coming down from Boccola, traversing a straight road up to the church S.Agostino, and then traversing the obligatory curve with flank changing, as well as the ascent on the big boulevard delle Mura, which offers an appealing panorama of the Bergamo bassa town – and then the labyrinth of the S.Giacomo gate, one more straight road and the finish.
The cars will be exhibited in columns – 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon- in one of the most beautiful squares from Bergamo: the Cittadella Square, which, after a long restoration, regained its initial charm showed by wall paintings, nobiliary blazons and an ample gallery.
50 selected veteran racing cars of absolute value, F1 and F Junior, from the 50- 60s, Gp/Sport and Gts/Sport from the pre-war period, up to 1970, belonging to the most famous companies: Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Maserati, Porsche, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Aston Martin… important historical companies, partners with an undisputable reputation will take part. Personalities of the automotive sportive and show world have promised to participate as well.
As well, according to the tradition, for the commemoration of the Great Motorcycle Prizes on the “Wall Circuit” that took place in the 50s, two columns dedicated to the historical motorcycles of the Great Prize from the 50s-70s will be added. The main hero will be the world champion, for nine times, Carlo Ubbiali at Mv Agusta 500 Gp.
